Client Overview:

Based in Ludwigsburg, JUNG since 1828 GmbH & Co. KG looks back on an exciting corporate history: what began as a confectionery factory producing the first promotional candy has evolved into a leading specialist in packaging services and a manufacturer of high-quality promotional products—boasting particular expertise in handling food items and a clear focus on quality. The entire value creation process takes place in Germany, from the initial idea to the finished product. However, rising order volumes and the high degree of product customization pushed the company’s established process and system landscape to its limits. Against this backdrop, JUNG decided to digitize its production and warehouse operations using integrated solutions based on the engomo platform.
A low-code platform that sits optimally on top of the ERP.
The introduction of the new ERP system in 2020 marked a crucial milestone. JUNG subsequently implemented the digitalization of warehouse logistics and shop floor data collection (BDE) using the low-code platform engomo—the heart of today’s fully integrated process chain. The BDE app brought transparency to JUNG’s processes: employees can now use touch-screen PCs in the printing and food production departments to launch jobs, record batches, log scrap, and consolidate orders into batches. This solution saves valuable time, particularly in the printing department where many small orders run concurrently—for instance, when 20 orders involving the same items are combined into a single production run, eliminating the need for repeated setup. Thanks to the direct integration with the Comarch ERP system, JUNG now has a transparent, real-time overview of production data, creating an optimal foundation for analysis and rapid response times.

Seamless warehouse operations and document retrieval via app
Warehouse logistics were digitized alongside the shop floor data collection (BDE) system. Using a mobile, user-friendly engomo app on handheld terminals, tasks such as put-away, stock transfers, picking, and inventory counts are now performed paperlessly. In addition to the application’s intuitive usability, barcode scanning provides warehouse staff with optimal process support—ensuring direct feedback of goods movements to the ERP system. Another milestone is the integration of digital proofs. Previously, printouts for print approval were distributed across production areas; today, these documents are accessible directly within the engomo app, significantly reducing the volume of printouts and overall paper consumption. This ensures that employees in printing, packaging, and the warehouse always view the most up-to-date version of an order—including layout, quantity, and status.

From isolated solutions to end-to-end processes
By introducing an ERP system combined with the engomo platform as a digital process engine, JUNG replaced isolated solutions and breaks in the data chain with integrated, seamless process flows in warehousing and production. Production times and order cycles can now be tracked precisely—a crucial foundation for ERP-based costing and continuous process optimization. Batch traceability has also been improved: every warehouse movement and production transaction is digitally recorded and documented without gaps.
